SnakeAppleTree is an indigenous River Severn shaman currently based in South West Wales.
"My work is inspired by urban and coastal environments.
An enjoyment of textural qualities and contrasts:
where hills meet clouds,
where rugged concrete meets many types of Welsh rain,
where ocean meets shore.
These are places where edges blend,
where opposing elements are indistinguishable.
The imagery is symbolic;
paint becomes a language for discussing places
such as where emotion becomes mind, becomes form,
where intuition becomes an action or a physical thing or a place."
It is an exploration afforded by the luxury of modern industrial resources;
cardboard, polymers, concrete, computers,
as much as traditional, organic materials;
charcoal, wood pulp, cotton fabric, chalk, water.
