BAND JOURNAL
19.5.2012
It became apparent today that a band journal might become a thing of interest.
The previous 3 weeks has seen once-a-week sessions with Rob teaching Joe some of his material. It has a purity. Metal meets punk. His patience is awe inspiring.
1pm
Today Dan turned up for his first drum lesson. Drummers are hard to find; as drum kits are noisy and take up a lot of space. A drummer putting 'band wanted' ad in music shop will have ten calls in a week. Any other instrument putting same add in music shop will probably never get a call. He's got natural rhythm and only needs famliartity with the instrument. Having half a drum kit and asomeone who is eager to be involved is luckylucky.
2pm
Guitarist Jason arrived for his first session. He has old metallica, slayer, life of agony in his blood and improvised a whole new track as well as the mateiral he brought.
3pm
Police knocked the door and apologetically asked us to shut the fuck up after several complaints from the neighbours. We turned the amps off and continued regardless.
4.30
I promise to have the recordings from today tidied up and uploaded to soundcloud tonight. Several distractions later....
8.30
tracks uploading nicely. It takes ages to do this; bouncing from program to program and upload it to soundcloud; have forgotten/lost passwords so have to go through the whole process of that. Man I hate machines.
